CUNA's Volunteer Institute will meet next January in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The conference will span 4 days and will be held at Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa. CUNA is advertising an all inclusive room rate of $289 per night for a single room or $341 per night for a double room.
While most credit union directors are not paid, they are handsomely rewarded with all expenses paid perks, such as conferences on a tropical island.
And just how much for the damn flight to Jamaica? There is no possible way CUNA could provide this information by way of a webinar or local area conference. And why should CUNA promote travel in the United States to support the U.S. economy? No send 'em to Jamaica. Let's hope it is a one way ticket for the CUNA leadership, too.

Maybe they're doing community rehab for Sandy victims whose homes were destroyed?
Serving those of modest means by NOT passing on the tax exemption. According to the cu association in the northwest, the tax exemption is not an advantage. Yet, according to cu (not accountable) na the tax exemption is not being used for salaries and junkets, then where does the tax exemption go?
Since I got on our board, I am alarmed at all the contradictions in credit union messaging. The lies go full circle.
Maybe we can get congress to get NCUA out of the way on charter change.
Its your trade association. if you do not like it than do something about it but stop whining. Thats the problem with credit unions always whining and half support what the others don't want there is never any agreement on any of the real issues just a bunch of complainers.
