The Times Herald-Record is reporting that Hudson Valley FCU is being sued by borrowers regarding the mortgage recording tax.

The article states that "[o]n April 29, a group of borrowers who obtained mortgages from Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union filed a lawsuit against the credit union seeking a refund, plus damages, of the tax they paid to have their mortgages recorded in the counties where they lived."
The sharks, I mean lawyers, representing the borrowers are with Izard Nobel, a Hartford, Conn.-based class action firm.
The article states that there could potentially be thousands of plantiffs as 10 other states have mortgage recording taxes.

i have been a victim of hvfcu fraudulant busisness practices. I have a 15 year loan for $15,120. at a cool interest rate of 13.65% with them and after paying almost 10 years into it so far they claim that as of June 2010 i still owe them $15,105.00????..Needless to say i contacted the attorney general and they forwarded my information to the National Federal Credit Union Administration in Albany NY and i found their main office is located in Alexandria Virginia and i sent them a copy of all my findings...they have in turn contacted HVFCU and gave them 30 days to come to an "equitable solution"...can these people be trusted to do their job?...I mean the administration...i know not to trust hvfcu..after viewing my loan papers, there are so many abuses that i have found and im just a simple lay person...i cant believe that the bank has been allowed to get away with such underhanded business practices and cheating people who have no idea of what is going on...maybe we have seeds here for another class action suit against this bank???? I would love to see it happen and see what else it stirs up on this bank....my investigation is just beginning and i tell you...i have had two other laons with the bank which are also under scruity and for very good reasons...
